Covered in Christmas

Christmas joys beyond the toys and tidings that we bring,
A certain air about the square that leaves us soft and gleam,
No jingle, no jangle, no holiday angle, nor family time gone wrong,
can lead astray our hearts array of feelings beyond a song.

A babe was born, a curtain was torn and grace was poured out most certain,
A God who's love flew like a dove to deliver a gift of person.
A King, A Savior, A New Covenant maker, our way to Him made known,
Our sins washed clean, white as snow we sing, and His righteousness now our own.

Our response to this gift, from our hearts may we sift, the most deepest and truest of thanksgiving,
That in the midsts of our need, by this gift, we are freed, and the dead-in-sin may become the living.
This all from above, a gift of God's amazing love, to a people that He chose for his own,
So as we go from here to there, with plenty of Christmas in the air, may this worship in our hearts be made known.
