The things of this world that hold our attention and "satisfy" us, are in effect replacing God in our life, like the bride cheating on the bridegroom. But upon our repentance (doing a 180) God runs to us, like the father in the parable of the lost son. HE desires US. we should desire Him. For better is one day in His courts than a thousand elsewhere (Ps 84). He is the most fulfilling thing we as humans could ever seek. He promises those who seek find (mat 7:8). In the end, all these earthly things will fade away. But His words will never fade away, nor His promises. So as a Christian the promise of salvation is joy, and the promise of eternity with Him is satisfying.
