Luke in December for the 18th sees Jesus our God and savior telling the story of the unjust judge and the widow, teaching us to bring our plea before God steadfastly. In short, the widow brings her plea for justice to the judge so many times he gets sick of it and renders judgement in her favor just to get rid of her. Jesus tells us God is just and loves us so how much more will he do it.
This chapter is full of good stuff. The parable of the pharisee and the tax collector shows us to use caution to make sure our hearts are right when we come before God. It is so easy to become self righteous. He also tells us to recieve the kingdom of heaven as little children. Think of the ways children recieve things. Give a child you know a toy and watch what they do. They will take it without question immediately. They will use it to the fullest. owning it without question , they will take delight in discovering all of its attributes. They will love to learn about it and will be open to hearing all of its traits.
Jesus also prophesies of his crucifixion. He heals a blind man. and tells of the rich ruler, about how hard some things are to make happen. Some things are impossible for us, but nothing is impossible for God. Nothing. Think about that for a second. I mean really think about that. Our
god is awesome!
Read this chapter and meditate on it. It is so encouraging. God bless you.
